Bank of Valletta has aligned its child focused marketing initiative with the character for several years. The brief was to refresh the image and to introduce a fellow member of the ‘species’ that would address gender equality by having a female version.
The agency concentrated on refinement of the character making the lines smoother and bolder enhancing the reptilian lines and flow and giving the character more room for expressive movements by making its extremities more dexterous and expressive. The face underwent a complete makeover with the addition of doe eyes and a very wide and expressive mouth. Eyes and mouth being vital in glance recognition of emotion of the character. The addition of ‘baby sister’ Cikkurilla – pinked for clarity and dressed in surmounting bow and securely pinned nappy, she displays mischievous wisdoms that belie her apparent age and pulls it all off with the ever endearing charm of bright blue eyes.
